We’re Attending ad:tech London, And Bringing Big Data with Us

This week, Mirror Image is exhibiting at ad:tech London in Innovation Alley Pod 1 (ILP1) and on day 1 of the show,  Mirror Image’s Director of Edge Computing, Joe Lichtenberg will be presenting on how companies can leverage Big Data to boost mobile advertising ROI. Big Data has been discussed a lot in our industry, but just having access to a lot of data isn’t enough. As advertising partners, we need to take data a step further to provide actionable insights that improve relevance. Data without context is simply information. But how do you turn that information into action? Data-driven mobile ads perform better, and it’s no mystery why. The more relevant the content, the greater the likelihood is of a consumer clicking on the ad. The best way to harness Big Data to drive mobile ad success is through contextual targeting, which delivers the right message, to the right audience, at the right time. Contextual targeting includes:

  • Location-based targeting
  • Message targeting

Big Data enables advertising partners to take targeting beyond just traditional demographics to understand values, beliefs and attitudes of audiences. This helps advertisers answer the question of why a consumer took a particular action so they can tailor their message and delivery accordingly for similar audiences in the future.
