JOB DESCRIPTION:
Mirror Image Internet's business is predicated on the ability to serve Internet content, as a Content Data Network “CDN” provider, to customers across diverse vertical market segments worldwide. Critical to serving Internet content to our customers are:
* Timely build-out of network and server capacity
*  Network, server, and application performance, capability, and reliability
*  Roll-out of new services and upgrades to existing services
*  On-going expansion, maintenance and support of Worldwide Content Access Points “CAP” (Data Centers)

The ideal candidate for the position of Streaming Media Systems Engineer will be individual who has “real world” experience architecting, designing, deploying, and managing a large-scale video stream services, Live and Video on Demand, across a global footprint. The individual will be responsible for providing technical leadership to Mirror Image’s Operations department in furthering the evolution of the current streaming services. This will entail specifying improvements and enhancements in numerous areas, including roll-out of new streaming services, provisioning, monitoring, logging, reporting, management, configuration, hardware/software, bandwidth, and geographic footprint. This individual will stay abreast of server and client side advancements made in various streaming platforms such as Wowza, Flash, and Windows media services. He or she will participate in product life cycle planning and development initiatives by specifying requirements, working with development engineering to establish design criteria, working with QA engineering on testing criteria and testing assistance, working with Operations on deployment plans, monitoring improvements, and overall enhancements to scalability, and project managing deployment. The role requires someone who can maintain and expand upon the corporate Stream System Engineering Handbook.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
*  Participate in network capacity planning and deployment in a rapidly expanding, global environment 
*  Troubleshoot system and network interoperability issues
Create and maintain procedural and architectural documentation 
*  Evaluate and recommend upgrades, patches, application and equipment 
*  Other relevant duties as required and/or assigned
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required:
Demonstrated experience in designing and deploying a video streaming service Live and VOD across a broad geographic footprint 
In-depth knowledge in server side streaming platforms - preferably Wowza Media, Adobe Flash, Windows Media 
Development skills as they pertain to Java, ActionScript, Silverlight, XML 
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills and solid background knowledge focused around QoS issues for video streaming required 
Familiarity with CDN desired 
Previous product experience with advanced media technologies (streaming, interactivity, compression) including MPEG standards (e.g. H264/MPEG-4, MPEG-2, AVC, SVC) and network communication protocols 
Proven track record of working within a project/service development lifecycle; driving requirements, prototyping solutions, assisting development and QA, creating deployment plans, and project managing rollout of new streaming services or enhancements to existing services 
Very knowledgeable in all facets of deploying a streaming services; provisioning, logging, reporting, monitoring, and management 
Keep abreast of current technologies and recent developments in relevant technologies; evaluate new technologies and promote the benefits associated with their adoption 
Excellent project management skills with the ability to create strategic and tactical plans, schedules, milestones, and manage accordingly 
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as collaboration skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams
