JOB DESCRIPTION:

Mirror Image Internet's business is predicated on the ability to serve Internet content, as a Content Data Network “CDN” provider, to customers across diverse vertical market segments worldwide. Critical to serving Internet content to our customers are:

* Timely build-out of network and server capacity
* Network, server, and application performance, capability, and reliability
* Roll-out of new services and upgrades to existing services
* On-going expansion, maintenance and support of Worldwide Content Access Points “CAP” (Data Centers)

The ideal candidate for the Network Engineer position must have a strong background in implementing and supporting internetworking technologies at an enterprise level, with a focus on performance optimization and stability.  He or she must be a self-starter, professional, have excellent technical and organizational skills, be experienced in project management, possess solid verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrate a “can do” attitude with respect to work assignments.  He or she will have strong interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a highly technical staff.  This position requires an individual with solid team-player orientation, the ability to manage work load amid changing priorities, alternating between projects and operational support.  Experience with the configuration and administration of Routers and Switches, as well as both Hardware and Software based Firewalls, are also important.

The position requires hands-on, technical experience with TCP/IP (IPv4/IPv6) platforms that involve dynamic routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP and their related control protocols, as well as a strong working knowledge of TCP/IP enhancements such as multi-cast, QoS techniques, bandwidth and path reservation techniques, and experience with server load balancing / proximity based routing of traffic (F5 BigIP / Cisco CSS/GSS) in a 24/7 production environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

*  Install, Configure and support LAN/WAN environments.
*  Troubleshoot network issues.
*  Participate in network capacity planning and deployment in a rapidly expanding, global environment.
*  Take ownership of strategic networking projects, as assigned from time to time.
*  Create and maintain procedural and architectural documentation.
*  Evaluate and recommend upgrades, patches, application and equipment.
*  Participate in the pager rotation for off hours support.

Other duties as required and/or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required:

*  3-6 ye
ars of Network Engineering experience.
*  
Experience needed with Cisco 6500, 3550, 3825, 3640, PIX, ASA, TACACS, VPN, BGP.
*  Must be an expert with Cisco 6500 gear, using IOS. 
*  Experience with Foundry/Brocade MLX.  
*  Experience maintaining and expanding high volume, dynamic, globally distributednetwork points of presence.
*  Experience working with Co-Location providers to manage bandwidth procurement and installation.
*  
Experience with F5 8400, Netscaler and Cisco Content Switch Model “CSM/S” (desired) load balancers; configuration, management, and troubleshooting.
*  
Experience with Global DNS load balancing – Anycast and/or Cisco GSS.
*  
Familiarity with PKI Certificate management on Unix, Cisco, and F5 devices.
*  
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
*  Requires architectural design for current and future growth of rapidly expanding global environment.  
*  Familiarity with designing and maintaining a global network environment is required.
*  Experience in project planning and management.

Experience writing scripts.

Need to function well as a team member on cross-discipline issues. 
On-call responsibilities will be shared among the Network group personnel. 
Travel up to 10-25%, including international travel.
*  Cisco certification a plus.
